Thai photographer Miti Ruangkritya‘s (b. 1981,Thailand) views the surroundings of the nearby city of Siem Reap – once a sleepy backwater town, today a must-see tourist location due to the nearby Angkor Wat ruins. On the Edge explores this fast paced development, but only from a far distance. What we see is not the city itself but only its dusty outskirts that seem to define a certain reminder of the ‘original’ landscape: secluded, serene, untouched. It is there , on the edge of the urban and the rural, that you can feel that the mundane chaos is near and yet you are far enough to have found an escape, away from all the business that surrounds Siem Reap these days.
