An overview of American photographer Linda McCartney’s (1941-1998) groundbreaking career will be presented for the first time in Victoria, Australia as part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. Comprising more than 200 photographs, the Linda McCartney Retrospective outlines more than three decades of work, from her time documenting the thriving 1960s rock and roll scene, to her later body of work that presented a unique vision of, amongst others, domestic life as a mother, and life on the road as a member of the band Wings. In later years, she turned her photographic talent to the aiding of animal rights activism, an issue close to her heart. This exclusive exhibition, curated by Paul, Stella and Mary McCartney, also features never before seen intimate family photographs, as well as prints from two family trips to Australia in 1975 and 1993.

Founded in 2005, the Ballarat International Foto Biennale is one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographic festivals featuring exhibitions, outdoor programs, workshops, artist talks, award showcases and much more.
