2006 was an unparalleled year in the Dutch history of photography. With crowdpulling exhibitions of international allure, record proceeds at auctions, young talents breaking through, new photography initiatives such as publishers, galleries and festivals and a rising number of enrolments at photo academies, photography in the Netherlands was doing very well.
