Casper was born in 2000. His birth was documented by his father, photographer Koos Breukel (b. 1962, The Netherlands), in portraits both intimate and affectionate. This marked the beginning of a years-long documentation – a registration of a childhood, but also proof of a strong family bond. A father watches his son grow up and become a man. The project culminates in a book and exhibition now that Casper has turned 18.
Zoon (‘Son’) is Breukel’s most personal project, who is mostly known for his portraits of well-known Dutch people and internationally renowned artists.
The exhibition will take place from September 8 to December 2, 2018 in Huis Marseille, Kiezersgracht 401, 1016 EK Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Breukel’s work can be found in GUP #58.
