Swiss photographer Claudio Rasano (b. 1970, Basel) chases the traces of the former Soviet Union in the city Tbilisi. Rasano is fascinated by the relationship that is build between spaces and the humans that appear in it. In Dosoliated Tbilisi the photographer recognised a common notion of desolation in the environments as well as in the eyes of the people that occupy the space.
“My work explores the subject within the space and the space as the subject itself.” says Rasano about the series. “We do live between spaces and humans. As a photographer, I install a relationship with human beings in front of the camera, and between me and the human is only the space. I like to express that space by showing the relationship between me and the subject of my photography.”
