All that Glitters… certainly is not gold, and may in-fact be a method of control, teaching us to accept economic disparity. Based in Thailand, Adam Birkan has searched for examples of the aesthetics of disparity. Colours, textures and designs which separate the rich and the poor. While his project is focused on the institutionalised treatment of the different classes in Asia he sees this as a global problem, and worries that we all may come to just accept it as the norm of life.
