For its 49th edition, titled Back To The Future, Les Rencontres d’Arles reflects on what happens around the world today by looking back at events from 50 and 60 years ago. In different sections, visitors are taken through recent American and European history, as well as the most recent developments in politics and technology. In light of this past, present and future, Arles celebrates not only diversity, but also the power of photography to invoke change. Once again, the festival offers countless exhibitions all around the town of Arles, but also workshops, book awards and much more, making this one of the most important photography events of the summer.
